Privacy Of AI surveillance
At AI Surveillance, we respect the privacy of our clients and the security of their business data. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect the information gathered through our Video Management System (VMS), AI-driven analytics, and Point of Sale (POS) integration services.
1. Information We Collect
To provide our active protection services, we collect the following types of information:
- Client Information: Name, business address, email, and phone number provided during the demo request or onboarding process.
- Service Data (Video & Audio): Live video feeds and audio data from your cameras and microphones for the purpose of active monitoring and "voice-down" deterrence.
- POS Transaction Data: Digital records of transactions, including aborted sales, safe drops, and coupon applications (specifically flagging entries under $0.75).
- Environmental Data: Information from integrated sensors, such as cooler temperatures and panic button triggers.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the collected data strictly to provide and improve our security services:
- Real-Time Monitoring: Our human-verified monitoring team uses video and audio feeds to identify and deter criminal activity or safety hazards.
- Forensic Auditing: POS data is analyzed to identify internal theft patterns (e.g., aborted transactions or micro-coupon skimming).
- System Alerts: Sensor data is used to send immediate notifications regarding equipment failure or emergency situations.
- Legal Compliance: We ensure video data is retained for a minimum of 30 days to meet retail safety standards.
3. Data Storage & Security
We prioritize a "Local-First" (Edge Storage) model to enhance both privacy and efficiency:
- Local Storage: The vast majority of your high-definition video footage remains on your physical hardware at your business location. It is not constantly streamed to the cloud.
- Cloud Transmission: Only AI-flagged "events" (clips of suspicious activity or sensor alerts) are transmitted to our secure cloud servers for review and archival.
- Encryption: All data transmitted between your site and our monitoring hubs is encrypted using industry-standard protocols.
4. Global Operations & Cross-Border Transfers
AI Surveillance operates as a global team. By using our services, you acknowledge that:
- Monitoring Hubs: Live feeds and POS data may be accessed and reviewed by our authorized monitoring personnel located in India to provide 24/7 oversight.
- Access Controls: Our international team is subject to strict confidentiality agreements and access is limited strictly to the data required to perform security functions. No data is sold to third parties.
5. Data Retention
- Standard Video: Retained locally for at least 30 days per Washington state guidelines, after which it is typically overwritten.
- Flagged Incidents: Video clips and POS audit reports associated with a specific alert or theft investigation are retained in our secure cloud until the matter is resolved or as required by law.
6. Your Rights & Control
As a client, you have the right to:
- Request a summary of the data we have collected regarding your business operations.
- Request the deletion of specific event clips (unless they are required for ongoing legal or law enforcement purposes).
- Review and update your contact and notification preferences at any time through our dashboard.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in technology or state regulations. All clients will be notified of significant changes via the email address on file.
